Wisconsin River Blues

From Blueberry Boat

Please Mr. Brisbane - oh Mr. Brisbane please
don't let your anti-lion go roaring amongst the White Pine trees
Please Mr. Brisbane - oh Mr. Brisbane please
don't make us grow tails or live by Lake salt-water Lemonade in ease.

This journey journal
was located in the locked library
of the Chippewa Valley Falls Community Center.
After failure at settling in cozy
by the snake-skin banks of the dusty dirty Trinity,
Mr. Brisbane lead everybody- all six of us -
up north to the crisp semi-frozen inlets of the big W.

In between the river and the little town of Grand Mush,
we arranged everything up.
We designated the six of us six different bands and sewed the banners for each of them - mine was black gold and blue
And we waved them around while doing the tasks we were passionately attracted to,
like clearing secondary jungle
And then the local homesteaders Yankees and Finns came over with a petition which read:

Please Mr. Brisbane - oh Mr. Brisbane please
don't make your anti-lion go roaring amongst the White Pine trees
Please Mr. Brisbane - oh Mr. Brisbane please
don't make us grow tails or live by Lake salt-water Lemonade in ease

Mr. Brisbane shook his head
and deliberated.

And Then Mr. Brisbane made a speech
to them and to us
By the sacred waters of the Wisconsin River,
I swear,
You'll get whatever it is you want,
it's not for me to say or to care.

Please Mr. Brisbane - oh Mr. Brisbane please
don't make your anti-lion go roaring amongst the White Pine trees
Please Mr. Brisbane - oh Mr. Brisbane please
don't make us grow tails or live by Lake salt-water Lemonade in ease

Please Mr. Brisbane - oh Mr. Brisbane please
don't make your anti-lion go roaring amongst the White Pine trees
Please Mr. Brisbane - oh Mr. Brisbane please
don't make us grow tails or live by Lake salt-water Lemonade in ease

Please Mr. Brisbane - oh Mr. Brisbane please
don't make your anti-lion go roaring amongst these White Pine trees
Please Mr. Brisbane - oh Mr. Brisbane please
don't make us grow tails or live by Lake salt-water Lemonade in ease
